There are only four, FOUR! more sleeps until Promises officially releases, and yes, I’m counting them down. Each day this week I’ve visited my local BigW in the faint hope Promises has made an early appearance on the shelves. It hasn’t, and I realise it’s unlikely to appear before Monday, but a girl’s allowed to feel excited.
The Romance Writers of Australia annual conference, held this year in Melbourne, was probably the best I’ve attended. The speakers were interesting and informative, the venue (the Hilton) was excellent, and Melbourne even behaved itself weather-wise. But best of all was catching up with old friends and making new ones. There was so much squealing in delight and hugging that I’ve spent the days since suffering withdrawals. If you’re keen to know more about the conference, The RWA blog has a great roundup, as do Fiona Palmer and Rachael Johns, while Helene Young has some lovely pictures from the awards night when Wings of Fear won the Romantic Book of the Year (Romantic Elements).
Feedback from those lucky people who secured advance copies of Promises has been WONDERFUL, so a huge thanks to everyone who’s commented on Twitter and Facebook, and via email. You’ve put the biggest smile on my face.
Next week is going to be busy with radio interviews (thank you, ABC!) and blogging. I’ll post details, links and podcasts as they come on line, so stay tuned.
Exciting times ahead!
