Welcome again to the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, a year-long challenge set by the good folk at Long and Short Reviews that anyone can participate in. Check out the site to see who else is playing along.
This week’s topic:
My “go-to” book or movie for a pick-me-up
Oh, this one’s easy!
Ever since its release, my go-to movie has been Love Actually. Any time I wanted to get warm and fuzzy, on it would go and I’d immediately be swept away by Hugh Grant clumsily trying to flirt with Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy being hilarious and camping it up as an aging rocker, Colin Firth being swoonworthy, Martin Freeman and Joanna Page being shy and sweet, Kris Marshall being adventurous, and the list goes on.
So. Much. To. Love.
But there comes a time when even the most beloved film loses some of its lustre and another shiny, happy lovefest sings its way into your life. I was rock-solid on Love Actually but this year it was usurped by a wonderful, funny, sweet film called…
Yesterday.
Sigh.
Deep, deep sigh.
Yesterday gives me the warm-fuzzies on so many levels. It has Beatles music. In fact, it’s ALL about Beatles music. And romance, of course. And being good and true to yourself.
And miracles!
That’s the thing I adore about Yesterday. In Yesterday-land, miracles can, and do, happen.
How heart-warming is that?
Go watch. It’s like being cuddled. And who doesn’t need that at the moment?
