Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the tantalising blog series where I share snippets from my works-in-progress, up-coming releases and published novels, and occasionally let good writing buddies play around.
This week I’m going to share a teensy snippet from my current work-in-progress, Quarry Road (don’t get fond of this title, I suspect it’s not long for this world). I’m having a lot of fun with this rural romance. The hero and heroine are complete opposites, which is going to lead to a few fiery encounters. They’ll get over it, of course. It’s a romance! But I plan to make them leap some pretty major emotional hurdles before letting them succumb to their feelings.
Ah, it’s good to play author-god.
That was the trouble with unrequited love, the risk of humiliation was huge, and while Tash was perfectly happy to make a goose of herself for the sake of her business, she wasn’t about to have her heart smashed in front of all her friends. Or, worse, have them feel sorry for her because she’d been dumb enough to fall for a man so far beyond her reach he was practically interplanetary.
Well, maybe not interplanetary, but certainly intercontinental.
