Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the series where I share snippets from new and past releases, and works-in-progress, and occasionally con writing buddies into doing the same.
After a quiet weekend at home, this week sees me zooming off to one of my favourite places – the Hunter Valley. I’ll be visiting for the Scone Writers Festival which is on from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th. Many of you will be aware that Summer and the Groomsman, the very first of my Levenham Love Story novellas, has been available for free across the major ebook platforms for much of this year. Righty-o, seeing as we’ve been talking Summer and Harry, let’s have a snippet. Here’s Harry at Josh and Em’s wedding (the hero and heroine of Rocking Horse Hill), where he’s proud to act as one of Josh’s groomsmen, and aching for Summer to show…
The bride and groom were staring at one another with secretive smiles, as if only they knew how special this moment was, and once again Harry was overcome with sentimentality. Unable to help 
himself, he shot a quick, hopeful look toward the back of the church.
And damn near squeaked.
Summer was hovering at the very rear, looking heart-stoppingly sweet and pretty in a flowery knee-length dress and her hair tied up in a loose bun. She was standing with her hands folded in front of the skirt, a silver toolbox by her feet, and gazing at one of the church’s colourful stained glass windows. As he gawked, the window was hit by a shaft of sunlight, dappling her face and body in colour. And though Harry knew it probably ranked as one of the dumbest notions he’d ever been struck with, he couldn’t help feeling as though, somehow, the building was blessing her.
This is SUCH a cute story and Harry is a big darling, although Summer certainly doesn’t think so when she first encounters him. But we can’t have love coming easily, can we? That’d be no fun at all.
